TIAM – Iceland Liechtenstein Norway grants

About the TIAM Project

Project called "Trends and Innovative Approaches in Management" (TIAM) is a two years project (2021 – 2023)  based on the project partnership of Faculty of Economics, Technical University of Liberec (EF TUL), Czech Republic and IOT-G NTNU in Gjovik, Norway. Both EF TUL and IOT-G NTNU run and have a lot of experience with education at Bachelor, Master and Ph.D. level.

 

TIAM project is funded by the EEA Funds 2014 – 2021 Education Program. Through the EEA Funds, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway contribute to reducing economic and social disparities in the European Economic Area (EEA) and to strengthening cooperation with 15 European countries.

The TIAM project, therefore, seeks to further strengthen the cooperation of EF TUL and IOT-G NTNU within education among the master students in the Trends in Management (e.g. Human Resource Management, Knowledge Management, Lean Management etc.).

The presented project aims to increase the knowledge of Czech and Norwegian students about the Trends in Management Practices, namely in Management Models and topics related to knowledge sharing best practices especially in relation to the dynamic situation in last months, influenced by trends in relation to pandemic situation and other up to date trends as digitalisation.

 

Based on the previous cooperation between universities and common teaching and research topics, the project members plan to implement their findings and experience in pedagogical activities within selected lectures and courses.

The innovative approach is based on sharing of experience and best practices both on theoretical and practical level. Both project partners will use combination of activities which will deepen knowledge as well as practical experience of students. Project deals with the topical issue, trends in management and importance of knowledge sharing has increased in the last year due to the pandemic situation rapidly.

Interactive lecture by Martina Ortová – NTNU, Norway

On Wednesday 16 November 2022 an interactive lecture within TIAM project will take place.

Round table "Green Future"

On Thursday 22 September 2022 a dissemination activity round table "Green Future" of the TIAM project took place.
During the round table discussion three topics of the sustainability and trends in business were discussed – social, environmental, and economic aspects of sustainable development of the companies.

 

Seven professionals and experts from different business fields took place in the event as main speakers. Namely Lada Martinková (Praktik system), Zdenka Studená (FLEXJOBS.CZ), Filip Gröshl (DPDHL), Tomáš Holomoucký (DB Schenker), Leon Jakimič (Lasvit a.s.), Miroslav Opa (Cegelec a.s.) and Michal Žák (Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University).
The dissemination activity round table Green Future was visited by 126 participants. During the event also international audience were present in-person as well as online. The whole event was simultaneously translated to English language so that international contacts could attend the event.

Interactive lecture by Mr. Lachman, Benteler ČR, s.r.o.

Second invited lecture organised by EF TUL and NTNU within the TIAM project looks into the topic of Intercultural Management.
How important and sometimes challenging is the communication within international teams?

 

Mr. Lachman, who is Cluster Manager for Supply Chain Management– Aluminium in Benteler, accepted our invitation.
The lecture will also look on the local and global point of view within lean management and other business topics related to Human Resource Management (HRM).
All participants have an opportunity to hear practical examples and tips on how to manage various HRM activities in the international company.

The lecture looks into what knowledge management is, and how this relates to both overall business strategy and HRM-strategy. Additionally, what is the possibilities
and challenges with knowledge management? The learning session will bring both examples from small engineering companies and interactive questions/tasks for the students.

 

The lecture is organised within TIAM project between EF TUL and NTNU.

NTNU welcomed Mr. Lachman from Benteler CZ

Based on the started cooperation of EF TUL and Benteler Mr. Lachman went to Norway, NTNU to see Norwegian part of the TIAM team.
Structure of the planned interactive lecture was presented to Norwegian colleagues as well as the Benteler company itself.

 

The meeting took place on 30 March 2022 in person in NTNU campus in very enjoyable atmosphere.

Planning of the interactive lecture ensured by NTNU

On Friday 11 March 2022 project teams of the TIAM project met again. The purpose of the meeting was dedicated to interactive lecture which NTNU is going to ensure.

The topic of the lecture was introduced as well as the planned structure and main takeaways for the students.

The interactive lecture will be held in hybrid form – Czech students will join in person and Norwegian students will be online.

Cooperation with Benteler and EF TUL began

On Friday 11 February 2022 virtual meeting of the Czech team from EF TUL and Mr. Jan Lachman from Benteler Czech Republic had happened.
Aims and planned outputs of the TIAM project were introduced to Mr. Lachman as well as proposal of the cooperation.

 

It was a very successful meeting and both parties were very happy about the planned cooperation!

Meeting of the project team – Planning outputs for the summer semmester

On 28 January 2022 another meeting of the project team took place.
During this meeting outputs for the summer semester were planned, especially topics of the interactive lectures.
One of the interactive lectures would be ensured by NTNU and another one by EF TUL.

Kick-off call of the project teams

On Thursday 25 November the kick-off call among project teams took place virtually.
Both teams are thrilled to begin the project cooperation and are already working on the first outputs!
