Small entrepreneurs consider working with the web (85%), mastering electronic communication (81%), and working on social networks (63%) to be the most important ones. 10% of the companies surveyed are seriously interested in so-called Big Data, and 8%. A full 92% of entrepreneurs consider digital knowledge to be essential for their growth. According to the Digital Economy and Society Index (DESI), the Czech Republic ranked 17th among the 28 EU member states in 2018 with a score of 54. The Czech Republic is therefore in the group of countries with moderate results. On the other hand, the Czech Republic's score in terms of the share of ICT professionals has decreased compared to the previous year. In an economy characterised by near-full employment and high demand for people with technical skills, it is becoming increasingly difficult to find ICT professionals: 67% of businesses in 2017 reported that they had difficulty finding ICT professionals, the second highest share in the EU and up from 47% in 2012.
