European Business

The European Business programme is a bachelor's degree programme offered in cooperation with the Hochschule Zittau/Görlitz. The programme offers a modern education in international business and European management. The emphasis is on linking theoretical knowledge with practice in a transnational context through a common educational model and an international learning environment.

Students are required to pay a semester fee at the German partner university. The amount may vary slightly from one academic year to another and is currently approximately EUR 135 per semester. The semester fee must also be paid during semesters in which students participate in a study-abroad mobility at another university.

What can you do after school?

Graduates find employment in a wide range of professions, especially in the environment of international trade and European structures:

in international companies operating in the EU – for example as project managers, specialists in foreign markets or customer service,
in marketing, export, logistics and finance – as export manager, marketing analyst or supply chain specialist,
in public administration and the European institutions – as experts on the European agenda or staff in ministries and offices,
in international trade – setting up their own companies or working in business consultancy and establishing relationships with foreign partners.

What will you learn?

During your studies, you will gain a comprehensive overview of how business operates in an international and European context, including practical skills relevant to the modern marketplace:

International marketing, management and business – you will learn how to plan and implement business strategies in global markets,
European economic integration and tax systems – understand how the EU single market works and the differences in national tax policies,
Intercultural communication and foreign languages – improve your German or Spanish and learn how to communicate across cultures,
Strategic marketing, e-commerce and project management – you'll gain skills in digital environments as well as team and project management.

How is study connected to practice?

Part of the study is also a semester-long professional practice in the 5th semester, which is valued at 35 credits (ECTS).
Teaching takes place at two universities simultaneously - the Czech (our home) Technical University in Liberec and the German Hochschule Zittau/Görlitz.
The study programme also includes Business Simulation Games, case studies and intercultural workshops.

Study Plan

The curriculum covers a diverse range of subjects - from microeconomics and management to insurance and HR - and emphasises the link between theory and practice and preparation for real business challenges in Europe.

The curriculum includes a complete list and scope, semester and yearly schedule with credit grades and course completion specifications for all courses in the degree programme - whether they are compulsory, elective or optional.
